For over 125 years, since the days of the 49'er gold rush,
Bassett's Station has been providing for the High Sierra
travelers needs. Today's travelers will  find a source of supplies
for automobiles, beverages, gifts, groceries, hardware, ice,
ice cream,  lodging, and sporting goods. All supplies are
delivered with good old- fashioned country hospitality.
A Road Less Traveled

Highway 49 is designated a Scenic Byway. The stretch of the highway
Bassett's is located on runs parallel to Interstate 80, to the north, along
the Yuba River.

This portion of California defies all standard stereotypes. It is not
crowded; there are no shopping malls.  There are no stop lights in all of
Sierra County (population about 3500). Though approximately as far
from most destinations as the Lake Tahoe area it  has somehow escaped
any development, and remains a true jewel in the Sierras.

Bassetts Station can provide the creature comforts to make your visit a
wonderful experience. Many of our customers have been coming back
generation after generation. Come and check out Bassetts at the foot of
the Sierra Buttes.
